Who is the Real Enemy?

In light of the current political and economic climate, we are constantly fighting, constantly finding someone to blame.

Usually, our blame falls on the government or those in power.

Conspiracy theorists blame Rothschild and Rockerfeller and others in the elite class, saying that they are the true puppet masters behind every single event that occurs in the world, whether it is a terrorist attack or the unintentional poisoning of the water supply of a town or city’s population.

To quote Elliot Alderson from USA Network’s hit TV show, Mr. Robot, “There’s a powerful group of people out there that are secretly running the world. I’m talking about the guys, no one knows about the guys who are invisible. The top 1% of the top 1%. The guys that play God without permission.”

While I do not doubt that such secret societies exist, and have existed for a number of years…

While they may be the masterminds orchestrating every event that occurs in this world…

While they may hide behind their money and their corporate lawyers…

They are not the real enemy…

They are not the ones we should be fighting…

While claiming to the puppet masters, they are merely puppets…

Puppets that dance to the tune of the real puppet master…

He is the real puppet master. He is the driving force behind every evil in this world.

He is our real enemy. He is the one we should be fighting against.

The Apostle Paul tells us, “…we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places” (Ephesians 6:12).

That is where our fight is. We, as Christians, are called to fight on our knees.

Yes, we should petition the government for changes in the legal system. Yes, we should fight for the rights of the unborn and the poor and those who are powerless to help themselves.

But before and after each and every encounter with the forces of the government, we should be on our knees, waging the war in the spiritual realm as well.

Satan is real. He is the prince of the power of the air (Eph. 2:2), a murderer (John 8:44), against the things of God (Matt. 16:23), and the ruler of this world (John 12:31).

Our true fight is against him.

So, pray against him. Pray that the Lord will break all of Satan’s strongholds. Have people praying for you when you go up against Satan’s puppets.

It is against him and his demons that we fight. The rest is merely the results of the war in the unseen world.

Fight against him. Pray against him. Satan is your real enemy.
