Another Year For God

10448747_10153143218120806_7400625105114728226_nI want to keep this one short, largely because there isn’t much to say on this first day of 2016.

We are all setting New Year’s Resolutions, as we have all done in the past as we have grown up.

And I’m sure we’ve all stated, “This year, I’m going to follow through.” And we probably will. Or we won’t.

I want to give two New Year’s resolutions that we can remember day by day, week by week, month by month, year by year and follow.

Over the past few days, the K-Love Morning Show has spoken about two New Year’s resolutions that every Christian can strive to keep.

I find such resonance with these that I wanted to share them with you. They’re short and sweet, and, in all honesty, the simplest yet most difficult resolutions you will ever keep.

Penned by preacher and theologian Jonathan Edwards, these resolutions defined his life and I hope they will define yours and mine.

Resolution #1: I will live for God.

Resolution #2: If no one else does, I still will.

May these two resolutions define your life day in and day out.

Be blessed, Church.

  1. This reminds me of the story when Billy Graham, in his much earlier years, had trouble with some biblical realities, and said to God, “I will believe your word even when I can’t answer all the questions.”
